Talam Transform Berhad's roots trace back to the British colonial era, when the company began as TALAM Mines. It was later renamed TALAM Corporation Berhad, before transforming into Talam Transform Berhad (TTB) on 15 October 1990, through a reverse takeover driven by our founder, the late Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Ir Chan Ah Chye @ Chan Chong Yoon.
Over the decades since, that transformation has continued through the townships, commercial hubs, and community partnerships the Group has built — a legacy measured not only in developments completed, but in the communities that continue to grow around them.
With over 48 years of industry experience, Tan Sri Chan Ah Chye was named FIABCI Property Man of the Year in 1998 and was conferred an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Malaya in 2003. He served as Executive Director (President/CEO) of Kumpulan Europlus Berhad, and drove the reverse takeover that transformed the Company into Talam Transform Berhad in 1990. He passed away on 11 June 2024, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape the Group today.
Puan Sri Datin Thong Nyok Choo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from the University of Malaya in 1971. She served as General Manager of Pembangunan Brisdale Sdn Bhd, a property development company, from 1984 to 1989, before being appointed a Director of the company in March 1992. She was formerly President/Chief Executive of Talam Transform Berhad itself, from 21 December 1990 to 8 February 2002, and later served as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Kumpulan Europlus Berhad (now WCE Holdings Berhad) from 2001 until her retirement from active business management in 2012. She returned to active involvement with the Company, being appointed to TTB's current Board on 25 July 2024. Today, she continues to guide Talam Transform Berhad with the same steady leadership and commitment to the communities the Company serves.
Talam Transform Berhad remains committed to the communities its townships serve, contributing consistently to programmes across legal aid, health, and community welfare.
Programmes include Legal Aid in partnership with Ricky Tan & Co., the Health and Dental Programme with USIM, and the JOM Shopping Event with Giant and the Dewan Undangan Negeri.
