Puncak Jalil: The Story Behind Two Important Link Roads

The development of Puncak Jalil included two important link roads.

The first is the 500-metre extension connecting Persiaran Puncak Jalil directly to Jalan Kinrara 6 in Bandar Kinrara.

The second connects Puncak Jalil to the Bukit Jalil Highway (Federal Route 217) as part of the same Jalan Kinrara 6 extension project.

The project was completed in stages.

In September 2021, the first phase was partially opened (one direction). Traffic heading from Bandar Kinrara towards the Bukit Jalil Highway was allowed to use the new link, reducing congestion and shortening travel times.

On 18 July 2022, the project was fully completed and opened in both directions. The installation of traffic lights at the Persiaran Puncak Jalil junction completed the project, allowing two-way traffic and full access to and from the Bukit Jalil Highway.

Today, the completed link roads serve approximately 10,000 households in Puncak Jalil, Bandar Kinrara and Damai Utama.

The newspaper reports below document the progress of the project during its development.
